Cabling and Conduit - CT
This is one of our many SAQCC-Fire Accredited training courses for individuals interested in registering as a Fire Detection and Alarm System Cabler.
This training course is the 2nd component for the Fire Detection and Alarm System Cabler and is provided for persons who require knowledge of Fire Detection and Alarm System Cables and their application for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems.
Types of support methods of cables is presented.
Learners who have completed this course will have a thorough working knowledge of the various types of cables and conduit used in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, and understand how to install cables and conduit.
Competency levels are tested with as much practical exercises as possible minimizing the amount of written tests.
The following pre-requisites need to be in place:
- ABET 3 in Literacy
- A valid Grade 8 certificate with English and Mathematics
- Or an equivalent numeracy and literacy program completion
- Or evidence of having successfully completed the “Safety, Workshop Practice and Hand Tools” course in the form of a certificate from an approved SAQCC Fire training facility
- Or PRL - an assessment of the recognition of prior learning conducted
